Our Western diet has become a combination of these types of foods with minimal nutritional value. So you may be full all of the time and look healthy when you are actually starving because your body is not getting essential micro and macro nutrients that plant foods provide.
A snack does not have to be junk food. It should always be a food that provides your body with nutrition. Your body cares what you eat and will react to everything you consume. So take care of it - it is one of the few controls we have - what we put in our bodies. Mindfulness is very important to eating a healthy diet. Today we rush through our meals and barely taste the food. Eating on the run, in the car etc., have become the norm. Mindful eating is effective at helping to change this pattern. However, mindfullness also tells us to live in the present which helps to create peace in our lives. Paradoxically even when living in the present we cannot eat anything we desire at a given moment without anticpating consequences if this is done day after day. It will affect the aging process and overall health.

You can buy broccoli sprouts at most grocery stores. Throw them onto all of your salads or on top of any dish. They are so nutritious and you may not even notice that they are present. This takes no time and a package of sprouts lasts a long time.
TIP: Park further way from your destination when you drive somewhere. The further the better. Just these few extra steps each time add up!
